Lely Environnement selects Aktid for its new sorting facility.

Lely Environnement has entrusted Aktid with the design and construction of its new sorting facility.

AKTID SMART SOLUTIONS®

Both lines are monitored and analyzed by ABI (AKTID Business Intelligence), the flagship tool of AKTID Smart Solutions®. Thanks to multiple sensors and real-time processing of the collected data, the operator benefits from full visibility over the production and performance of both lines of the facility. This makes it possible to track various production indicators in real time, such as processed tonnage and recovered materials.

Aktid has also equipped the line with Smart Regulation. This system ensures a constant flow and regulates operations in particular when feed input is irregular and heterogeneous, thereby increasing the availability rate of the installation and guaranteeing optimal efficiency.

Lely Environnement, a recognized player in waste management in the Rhône-Alpes region, has entrusted Aktid with the design and construction of its new sorting facility at its Saint-Quentin-sur-Isère site (38). This project is part of Lely Environnement’s commitment to delivering high-quality services and meeting the growing needs for waste treatment and resource recovery.

This new line replaces the former Fontaine facility, which had been in operation for over 20 years and had already undergone a partial modernization by Aktid, but had become insufficient to meet the company’s activity needs.

The main objective of this new installation is ambitious: to halve the amount of waste sent to landfill. To achieve this, the project is based on the creation of two lines. The first line, dedicated to commercial and industrial waste (CIW/DIB), processes an annual throughput of 20,000 tonnes, while the second line, dedicated to construction waste, is designed to handle 50,000 tonnes per year.

An innovative process for optimal sorting

The process also includes 8 belts and conveyors, 2 sorting cabins, 3 overband magnets to extract ferrous metals, 1 eddy current separator for non-ferrous metals, 2 air separators to separate light, heavy, and mid-heavy fractions, as well as 3 screens from ACTION EQUIPMENT, a U.S. manufacturer of vibratory equipment for over 40 years and Aktid’s exclusive partner for the European market for many years.

  • 2 robust and efficient TAPER-SLOT® screens, whose patented screening media design, combined with a high vibration amplitude, allows installation at a low inclination. This extends material screening time and optimizes separation efficiency.

1 VIBRA-SNAP®, used to separate fine to very fine fractions through a trampoline effect, even with complex and heterogeneous materials. Its patented design enables the machine to release one of the highest levels of kinetic energy on the market. This ultra-high-performance screen, suitable for wet materials, also features a low risk of clogging and snagging of unwanted items.

Sorting robots for the heavy fraction

To achieve these performance levels, the installation incorporates cutting-edge technologies, including a three-arm sorting robot capable of simultaneously sorting several fractions of different shapes and sizes.

Installed at the end of the line, this robot can perform up to 2,300 picks per hour per arm, representing a total throughput of 3,700 to 4,000 sorting actions per hour. Designed to handle heavy and bulky materials such as wood and rubble, it enhances overall sorting performance while relieving operators from handling heavy loads.
