Inauguration of the SIAVED sorting center: a next-generation sorting facility designed by Aktid
An industrial facility sized for the territory
The SIAVED sorting center has been designed to process up to 36,500 tonnes of waste per year. This capacity ensures the long-term security of household packaging waste treatment while improving sorting quality and the recovery of recyclable materials.
The facility has been designed to adapt to the diversity of incoming waste streams, in a context shaped by the extension of sorting guidelines and the increase in collected volumes.
A high-performance and automated sorting process
The sorting line is based on a mechanized and automated process incorporating 8 state-of-the-art optical sorters.
The layout of the equipment and material flows has been designed by Aktid to optimize operational consistency, plant availability, and the quality of outgoing material streams.
Particular attention has also been paid to ease of maintenance for the various pieces of equipment and, more broadly, to the working conditions of the entire operations team.
Performance management powered by Aktid Smart Solutions
The SIAVED sorting center is equipped with ABI (Aktid Business Intelligence), one of the Aktid Smart Solutions.
This tool provides the operator with a real-time view of the facility’s performance, enabling the analysis of production data and the rapid identification of operational deviations. It also allows long-term performance analysis to clearly identify the most effective optimization levers.
Implementing a new process within an existing building
To limit the project’s land take and environmental impact, it was decided to install this sorting line within a former SIAVED logistics building. Available floor space, building height, structural columns, and other factors all imposed constraints on the project, challenging the teams in their design approach.
A collective achievement celebrated at the inauguration
The success of the project is based on close collaboration between SIAVED, Suez, Aktid, and the project partners, including JPC Partner, Groupe THEYS, and VALDEC.
The official inauguration highlighted the collective work carried out throughout the project and the commitment of the teams involved. Today, this new sorting center represents a strong industrial asset for the territory, supporting the ecological transition and the circular economy.
