Company acquisition – Aktid expands into Italy

After opening its capital this summer to accelerate international growth, Aktid has taken a new strategic step forward.

A leading player in France in the design and construction of non-hazardous solid waste sorting installations, Aktid is expanding its activity into Italy through the acquisition of Italproget, an Italian engineering and manufacturing company specializing in the development of waste sorting facilities.

This partnership is the result of a long-standing relationship of trust between the two companies.
Pierre-André Payerne, President of Aktid, emphasizes: “Aktid and Italproget share the same core values of high standards and commitment.”

This acquisition is therefore a natural continuation of their close collaboration and shared principles.

With 60 employees and having doubled its turnover to reach €20 million in 2023, Italproget has established itself as a major player in the customized design of non-hazardous solid waste sorting installations.

The acquisition gives rise to Aktid Italia, combining Italproget’s in-depth knowledge of the Italian market with Aktid’s 28 years of experience, particularly in the construction of large-scale facilities and the development of specialized tools such as the Smart Solutions®.

Marco Crociani, CEO of Italproget, comments: “By leveraging Aktid’s technical know-how and technological innovations from its R&D, we will significantly boost our potential in Italy. Our teams are confident and motivated to accelerate the development of new joint projects in the Italian market!”

Pierre-André Payerne, President of Aktid, highlights the strategic importance of this operation for the company’s international expansion. This acquisition marks Aktid’s first major external growth initiative and strengthens its ambition to become a key player in the European market.

About Italproget

Founded in 2010 as a manufacturer of machinery for the recycling sector, Italproget has experienced exponential growth over the past five years and has become a recognized name on the Italian market. The company offers turnkey and tailor-made solutions for all types of non-hazardous solid waste — household, plastic, paper and cardboard, commercial and construction waste, organic waste and compost, and SRF production — as well as for the revamping of existing facilities.

The long-standing collaboration with the Aktid team, combined with group synergies, shared values, Italproget’s local market expertise, and the high quality of its solutions, will enable the Romagna-based company to become a major national player in Italy.
