2024 Review: A Year of Innovation and Growth for Aktid
The year 2024 marks a key milestone for Aktid, with major technological advances, large-scale projects, and international expansion. Innovation, automation, and performance remain at the core of the company’s strategy to optimize waste management through next-generation sorting centers.
Smart Event 2024: The Revolution of Autopiloted Sorting Centers
Innovation is at the core of Aktid’s DNA, and 2024 once again demonstrated this with the Smart Event. During this event held in Chambéry, Aktid unveiled its latest advances in automation and artificial intelligence through its Aktid Smart Solutions range.
The highlight of this edition?
The launch of Autopilot, a groundbreaking technology that enables sorting centers to adapt in real time to variations in waste streams and operational constraints. Thanks to artificial intelligence and advanced automation, facilities optimize their operations autonomously, reducing operating costs and improving sorting quality.
With a dedicated Automation and AI division and 5% of its revenue invested in R&D, Aktid is accelerating innovation to meet the challenges facing the sector.
Commissioning of 11 New Sorting Centers in 2024
In 2024, Aktid delivered and commissioned 11 new sorting centers, helping modernize waste treatment infrastructure and optimize the recovery of recyclable materials.
Some key projects:
- Guyot Environnement (Morlaix, Brittany): Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) production unit capable of producing 42,000 tons of SRF per year.
- Ecotri – Brangeon Group: An innovative process capable of treating and over-sorting 65,000 tons of residual waste per year, with 80% of the stream extracted for recovery.
- TriValLoire (Firminy, Loire): Selective collection sorting center processing 45,000 tons of household packaging per year for 660,000 inhabitants.
- TTM Environnement (Custines, Meurthe-et-Moselle): Treatment of 15,000 tons per year of commercial and industrial waste.

10 New Projects Awarded in 2024
In 2024, Aktid was awarded 10 new projects in France, several of which will represent major strategic advances in 2025.
On the international front, Aktid Italia signed its first project under the Aktid entity: the design of a Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) production plant (40,000 tons/year) for ISEA S.R.L. This marks a key milestone for the Italian market and paves the way for new collaborations.
Strengthening International Presence
To support this growth, Aktid recruited an International Business Developer. This strategic reinforcement reflects Aktid’s ambition to expand beyond Europe and accelerate its deployment in new markets.
The team is more than ever ready to take on new challenges and contribute to the optimization of sorting centers on a global scale.
Launch of Major Construction Projects in 2024
The year 2024 also marked the launch of several large-scale projects:
- Valcopia (Decoset, Toulouse): start of construction of the largest sorting center in France.
- Savoie Déchets (Chambéry) and SPL Trio (Masseube): two selective collection sorting centers for which Aktid acts as the lead contractor.
