A word from the founder

I am convinced that only businesses and the collective intelligence that they give rise to have the power to boost the economy by creating shared wealth in a way that respects the environment. I also know that a company can only spread its wings if it has the means to do so. That’s why it has to perform at the highest level. Today, we are an industrial company committed to its values: the quest for outstanding performance is what makes us what we are and all our actions are guided by our environmental convictions, anchored in our values of unity, high standards, constant improvement, ambition and determination. We are determined to continue to grow both individually and collectively, working closely with all our stakeholders and with a fierce determination to limit our carbon footprint.

Our customers, both national and international, are the focus of our attention and we are proud to accompany them in the search for solutions that harmonise closely with our core aim: To grow together by transforming waste into a sustainable resource.

Reducing the environmental impact of equipment

At Aktid, every technical decision is planned to combine performance with respect for the environment. This means making frugal design choices, greater control over energy use, and paying attention to the entire value chain. Three complementary levers structure this approach.

Low-energy, high-performance technology

To limit the energy consumption of waste sorting centres, Aktid favours proven, low-energy and efficient technologies.

Heat recovery: The heat generated by the air compressors is used to heat the sorting cabin.
Optimised compressed air: Aktid installs some of the most energy-efficient compressed air equipment on the market, reducing the site’s energy consumption by up to 30%.
Monitoring and high-performance motors: All the motors proposed are class IE4/IE5, offering a high level of efficiency. Their consumption is monitored in real time using the ABI tool, guaranteeing precise energy management.

Responsible design

Aktid adopts an eco-design approach to limit the environmental impact of its equipment throughout its life cycle.

Materials, use, end of life: Each item of equipment is designed with sustainability and recyclability in mind.
EDDA tool: Developed by Aktid, this tool helps our R&D teams to compare the environmental footprint of different technical options and choose the most ethical one.

A committed supply chain

Our CSR commitments also extend to our suppliers, who are selected for their geographical proximity and shared values.

Preferred local partners: Whenever possible, we work with providers close to our worksites to reduce transportation and support the local economy.
CSR supplier assessment: Safety, HR practices, environmental management, and responsible business relations are an integral part of our selection process.

Aktid is committed to protecting the environment and biodiversity

As a result of their work, Aktid employees are even more aware of the environmental cause.

In addition to actions to optimise energy use, sort and reduce waste, Aktid has chosen to host 6 beehives on its site.

Protecting bees and pollinators in general is now a major issue in safeguarding local biodiversity.

Bees, the main pollinators, are at the heart of our ecosystem and play a crucial role in the food chain. The very green setting of Aktid’s premises appeals to the hives’ 90,000 or so inhabitants, who live in perfect harmony with our employees!

Day-to-day actions on our premises

We are committed to adopting simple but effective measures on our premises:

Constantly reducing our energy consumption through efficient equipment and environmentally friendly actions.
Systematic sorting and limitation of waste generated; recyclable waste, paper and coffee grounds.
Encouraging more sustainable methods of travel, such as carpooling, cycling or public transport, for commuting and business trips.

Measuring for progress

To monitor our efforts and ensure they are effective, we carry out a full carbon assessment of our activities. This diagnosis enables us to identify the priority levers for reducing our emissions, and to ensure strict monitoring, with a view to continuously improving our environmental performance.

Aktid is committed to the local community by supporting a number of local associations with a variety of causes, all of which reflect the values of Aktid and its employees.

MALRAUX national stage

Since 2019, Aktid has chosen to support the Espace Malraux. Shared commitment, the ability to think outside the box, the desire to constantly improve and team spirit are values that the entire Aktid team strives to cultivate. For its part, the Espace Malraux team shares these values to create original, no-holds-barred events, with the aim of developing a diverse cultural offering in Chambéry that is open to as many people as possible. Aktid has therefore chosen to support the Espace Malraux to help make this fantastic project a success..

Ma chance moi aussi

Aktid has supported the association since its creation.

The Ma Chance Moi Aussi (A Chance For Me Too) association is involved in early prevention and offers educational and teaching support to children from families with educational difficulties living in priority neighbourhoods.

The Aktid team supports the cause of this association, but also its practical and modern methods for giving the children it supports a real chance in life.

Le SOC Rugby

The values of rugby, such as respect, team spirit, commitment, pushing your limits, and togetherness, are firm values of the Aktid team. Aktid has therefore chosen to become a partner

of SOC Rugby in Chambéry. Through this support, Aktid seeks to encourage amateur sport in its town and promote access to it for as many people as possible.

Grand Chambery Ski

For several years now, Aktid has been associated with Grand Chambéry Ski, an emblematic club in the region that has been passing on its passion for skiing and the mountains to young people in Chambéry since 1907. Thanks to its high-quality human and technical resources, the club acts as a school of life for its members, based on pushing your limits, team spirit, solidarity and respect for others. Aktid shares these firm values.

Livre en marche

Aktid supports Livres en Marches, an environmentally-friendly festival run entirely by volunteers, that attracts thousands of visitors every year near Chambéry. This annual event focuses on accessibility, openness and sharing, with a huge book fair, conferences, workshops for young people and meetings with well-known authors. Aktid works with this festival to help spread the culture to as many people as possible, giving them something to think about.
