Revamping of a selective collection waste sorting center.

Highlights of the project :

Modernization of the existing facility commissioned in 2020 by Hoffman.

Objectives :

  • Secure and stabilize throughput.
  • Secure and improve material quality (fibrous materials and plastics).
  • Significantly reduce sorting rejects.
  • Reduce the number of operators in the sorting cabin (from 23 operators at 10 tph to 13 operators at 12 tph)

Scope of work :

  • Complete overhaul of the automation system and integration of ABI.
  • Modifications to the OCC, 2D and 3D sorting areas.
  • Addition of 24 pieces of equipment, including 2 optical sorters.
  • Modification or relocation of 13 pieces of equipment.

Extremely tight installation schedule :

  • Line shutdown: 9 weeks.
